I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2015 with my bachelor's degree in elementary education, Social Studies, and special education (cognitive impairments). In the time between graduation and being hired into Kingston Elementary School, I substitute taught and worked a couple of different seasonal summer jobs. I have been a long term substitute in a kindergarten classroom, an 8th grade English Language Arts special education classroom, and most recently a 6th grade Social Studies classroom. I worked two summers at a YMCA summer camp in various roles. I was an outdoor educator for school groups and a counselor/ranch director during the camp weeks. This allowed me to combine three of my favorite things; working with kids, being outdoors, and horses. Over the most recent summer, I worked as a playground program supervisor where I provided a safe place for kids in inner city Flint to come during the day. Though I am not yet married, I am engaged to marry a wonderful man after the end of this upcoming school year. His Boston Terrier Peanut, our rabbits Peter and Paisley, and my horse Callie are our fur children. In my free time, I enjoy watching the Red Wings play hockey, being outdoors, taking photographs, and reading.
